Peebles PO-103 AM Trap & Antenna tuner kit
The PO-103, Antenna Tuner & Trap KIT
The following is the description provided on the Peebles website:
"This kit will tune random length antennas, from the low-end of the AM/BC band, and well into the upper SW bands. The specific upper ranges are somewhat dependent upon your antenna/ground situations. The trap will null those powerful, nearby, unwanted AM/BC stations, while enhancing the adjacent, weaker desired stations. This Tuner/Trap set-up is a must for the serious radio experimenter. All parts and easy to follow instructions are included."
For more information, please check out this website:

Copy of the schematic for the PO-103 can be found here:

Ever since 2006, Dwayne and myself have thought about running a station in the RAC Canada Day contest, to try and beat our old score from 2006 which was 12,600 points. We managed to get 1st place in Newfoundland and Labrador back then. Will we do it again in 2024? Fingers are crossed! :-) Thank you for watching and supporting the Radionut63 UA-cam channel. Traced fault to faulty desktop computer power supply, question is, is it worth replacing this power supply in hopes the computer itself survived, or should i just cut my losses and get another computer system?

Replaced the AC cord with a polarized 2 pin with Live going to the switch and Neutral to the chassis. I plan on adding a inline fuse holder to the back of unit for safety.

There's a few tmes I could have used that in my career lol. Klein tools are definitely the best quality hand tools for Telecommunications industry. I saw out company start to move away from them and we startws ordering doubles couple times a year on items that we would buy once and buy again after you lost the first lol.
I will be using this fish tape tomorrow to finish the job i started, i will upload another video tomorrow evening about how it worked out for me. I have high hopes this tool will work out nicely. :-)
@@Radionut63 definitely looking forward to seeing that one, good luck.
Cool ! Klein makes good Electrical Tools
You got that right!
how do turn it down
I hope you feel better my friend it's been about 10 years since I talked to you
Burns ain't fun I used to work in the ER

WX1PJ Giovanni then I can use also only internal microphone 🎤
thats to bad buddy could have been much worse heal up quick
I just like listening on my Grundig. Ive been listening to shortwave since i was a kid in the 80's.
Thats LIGHTNING damage. Have seen it thousands of times in TV and stereo repair. The giveaway is the arc path across the PWB traces at 01:08. See the white streak across the board. The copper is damaged by heat, the board is disintegrated by high voltage arcing. The overheating mechanically warps the board and breaks SMT components. Opto, thats lightning. It vaporises the innards and creates high pressure inside that blows the lid off. That strike was very close or hit the AC line to do that. At 00:24, the board overheating is from the vertically mounted power resistor. Old pc board layout problem- no space for copper trace to dissipate heat from the leads.
I thought you left the third bead broken
Transcript 😅
Do you still have this TS-440S, and is it still working? I just bought one in fully working condition, and it's due to arrive in the next day or two.
indeed she is still working, no issues at all. :-)
Impressive!
@@TanM Thank you! 😊
...just worked him from the West Coast of NA, 20m... 20 watts Xeigu G90 running off a LiFePO4 battery ...(almost) invisible EFHW wire strung up against a building....5X8...I'm not quite QRP, but 20 watts isn't much either... but he must have a really quiet location...Tnx for the contact ...Richard VA7AA

well the title was pretty descriptive as to what the content contained therein was about, so im not sure why you would click on something you don't care about, unless you have some sort of intellectual disability. Good luck with that lmfao.
Good video. For what I haven't a clue. Hopefully I will find out in Part 5 or 6.

Ranger 69 need help
@Radionut63 I bought a used one of these and it's been sitting around for a long time and could be useful. How do we charge this?
Nice video. I see it has the latest firmware as you have MOX and CAT. in your menu The latest firmware has REALLY improved everything on these little QRP rigs. Personally I had the option to buy the original tru-usdx and the Chinese version. I chose the Chinese version merely for the fact that this Chinese version has an aluminium case, not the 3d printed case of the tru-usdx, which I didn't like (to each their own). The Chinese version its somewhat bigger, so parts arent as squashed together, and the fact that it this model has an internal battery which has so far lasted me over a week, I left it on permanently in RX and TX'd in cw mode. Very happy with my black-brick usdx with version 4.00d firmware like yours. Best 73 de ZS6AKW.
nice job
Thank you! Cheers!
Just got a "new" (hand me down) TM-241A from a fellow ham. I love it! Still learning the bells 'n' whistles, but very happy w/ it so far as a new base station.
Great to hear!
Dang, I wish I would have keep up with my ARRL magazine. Would have loved to have picked up alot of Canadian statios. KM4HOY

@VE5UO Thank you, hope to hear you on the air. 73! De VO1IV
Great job!!
gettin on down! Happy Canada Day!
I own a pl 600, the brand new device does not turn on from the red power button for no reason, I press 3 and it turns on and off, the other buttons do not work, the screen light turns off whenever it wants or stays on constantly, what could be the problem, there is not even a scratch, I kept it very carefully, I did not even use it properly, In other words, it works like crazy, only FM works, the buttons do not work when you press other bands.
Quality control on these radios is very bad, many people are having problems with these radios. I for one, do not recommend them at all!
What antenna are you using for 80 meters ?
End fed longwire antenna.

Great video Mike. If you don't mind I will share this with friends. Made my day! VA3BXL. I could listen to Steely Dan all day long with little video.
Please do!
It's better to connect the switch contacts ( 2 layers) in parallel.. you can drive more power....
I don't want to take anything away from your wonderful build, however you can purchase PC audio equipment that has more than one line-in. For example there is the Focusrite Scarlett 18i8 3rd Gen USB, which supports 4x line inputs.
Why buy when it can be built for free?
@@Radionut63 The only reason I can think of is if you wanted to record 2+ line channels at the same time.
Actually, i want to hook up the Discriminator taps of x6 of my receivers to decode transmissions from which ever one i want to listen to. This is not meant to listen to all of them at the same time, hence the 6-way switch.
I just bought an ifr 1200S, and yes, CSMs are definitely a great piece of test gear
Yes they are!
Check the audio at the headphones and external speaker first to save wasting time. If OK, speaker problem. Occam's Razor applies.
Did all that, made zero difference
Gezzz dang😮
The power supply really got toasted,
Utter failure, no repairing that amount of damage, it's toast!
She was toasted thats for sure. Hope you have an awesome day.
You as well, it is a great day out there. Take advantage of it. :-)
